Public whale watching tours: $98 per person plus tax.

Private whale watching tours for up to 6 passengers: $588 plus tax.

Private whale watching tours for up to 10 passengers: $980 plus tax.

Public tours allow you to reserve seats for your group on a tour that has other passengers on it. This is a fun way to get out on the water with some new friends! With just 6-10 passengers on the boat you will get plenty of 1-on-1 time to ask questions, enjoy 360 degree views, and get a front row seat to the action!

Private tours are available for groups who would prefer a more intimate and customizable experience. Private tours reserve the entire boat for you and your group which allows us to make your trip extra special!

December through April you will get the chance to meet Gray, Fin, and Humpback whales.

This is your chance to have some amazing face time with Gray whales, who are one of the friendliest whale species. These curious and playful whales will often come right up to our boat! The Fin and Humpback Whales are also super fun to watch.  An amazing sight is the Fin whale who is one of the fastest swimmers and will leap completely out of the water.  The most exciting encounters are the ones we have with our resident Humpback Whales who we get to see throughout the entire year on our San Diego whale watching tours!

May through December you will have the opportunity to see Blue, Minke, Fin, and Humpback whales.

You will have the thrill of your life when you see the Blue whales – the largest animals ever known to live on planet earth.  Blues like to travel alone and when you get to see them in pairs or with their calves it’s unforgettable!  The Minke whales are one of the smallest and also the most curious—we like to think they are “people watching” right back at us.  We never tire of riding along with Humpback and Fin whales here in San Diego every month of the year!  Up close, you will get to see Humpbacks, who love to frolic, and the Fin whales who race by at super fast speeds.

Dolphins and Breathtaking Views All Year Long

Whales are the main attraction but we love to be greeted by pods of graceful and friendly dolphins! Dolphins glide through the ocean alongside our boats. Dolphins like to play in the wake of the boat and in the pressure wave underneath the boat. Dolphins join us, swimming arms reach away from the passengers, on almost all of our tours!

Additional to the wildlife, you can always plan on seeing stunning views of other San Diego landmarks on our tours. On our way out to the ocean we get a great view of Cabrillo National Monument and the famous Point Loma Lighthouse. You will also be treated to a beautiful view of the San Diego Skyline including iconic boats and the Coronado Bridge.

Why choose a R.I.B.?

This is an incredible ride on a Navy Seal decommissioned boat. We glide through the ocean at a smooth, fast pace. Moving faster means that we cover more ground and find more wildlife! Our boats are low profile which decreases the chance of sea-sickness and allows you to get closer to the animals. With less passengers on the tour you get a much more personalized and interactive experience. Every seat on the boat has 360 degree views and every passenger has the opportunity to talk to the Captain and ask questions. No other vessel will allow you reach the animals so closely and customize the tour to fit your interests.

Tour Length: 2.5 – 3 hours
